Seed In A Box is an initiative run by volunteers to promote the healthy, group, and urban farming in a farm, a house, an apartment, rooftop, school, institute…etc
With Seed In A Box, you can grow your own healthy bio food. The seeds are collected from all over Lebanon.
Seed In A Box caters to your urban farming needs. You can find all the supplies that you need to grow your own food at home, indoors or outdoors, with soil, with water, or even without water or soil, just moist air!
Seed In A Box has a goal to expose the importance of seeds as a strategy. We consider that promoting the importance of seeds is one solution to today’s life’s many challenges.
Vision & History
Seed In A Box initiative started as a small project to preserve the natural, heirloom, and organic seeds in two ways, by growing them and/or storing them.
Heirloom seeds, organic seeds, and non-GMO seeds are the seed types that one can find in Seed In A Box. All of the seeds and seedlings at Seed In A Box are chemical-free, this means that we do not use any chemical during the growing process for our crops, as well as for the crops we import, store and sell.
Seed In A Box works with farmers to preserve and exchange seeds, to reach a nationwide network of natural, heirloom organic seed exchange. Farmers have free access to the limited (for now) seed library at Seed In A Box.
Towards Food Sovereignty, is the main motto that governs Seed In A Box values and visions. We believe that everyone must have the right and access to food, as well as to choose her/his food sources and varieties.
Seed In A Box is a founding member of the Socio-Economic Action Collective (www.seaction.org) founded in Lebanon in 2019, and operating with over 30 NGOs and individuals in Lebanon and abroad.
Seed In A Box is powered by Agricultural Movement in Lebanon (Agrimovement).
